What Is Your 2022 Song Of The Year So Far? — Mine Is Mavin’s “Overdose”

In a couple of weeks from now, we’ll have gone through half of the year 2022.

The year started on a high note, with major collaborative hits like “Baddest Boy,” “Finesse,” and “Omo Opedisturbing the airwaves.

Then we started to see more players like Rema, AsakeFireboy, and Adekunle Gold come with new bangers. Some even came through with new albums within the first two months of the year.

It wasn’t until May though, before we had an influx of releases that saw everyone from Burna Boy to Davido and Asake release new music.

All in all, it’s been an exciting year so far and there’s been a lot of good music. Kizz Daniel, Rema, Fireboy, Burna Boy, Davido, Zinoleesky, Naira Marley, Simi, etc, have all put out new content.

Now as we approach the second half of the year, it’s time to evaluate those songs that have got us through the first half of 2022.

Granted, some top artists are yet to really release anything (Olamide, Wizkid) but that will definitely change as we near the end of the year. Definitely.

Of all the songs that have been released in this year, though, which one has stood out as the song of the year so far?

For me, that will be Mavin’s “Overdose” which I didn’t exactly feel at first but has now become one of my favorite collabos in recent memory. Next to that will be Fireboy‘s “Playboy.”

Anyway, I’ll leave the rest to y’all.
